Match Report
NB Colts Black Stars v Haddington 31st October 2009.
Team: Ben, Monique, Gregor, Jonathan, Jamie, Finlay, Alex, Toby, Elliot.
It was a beautiful morning in North Berwick. The only thing to spoil it was John's legs...
John and Ged also discussed tactics - John would shout from the side lines and Ged would referee!
NB raced to a 3- goal lead Toby, Finlay and Gregor on the score sheet.
Finlay was in terrific form on the left - he played better football than he would ever see at Upton Park (or the Stadium of light - sorry Ged).
Alex started well in goal, followed by good displays from Jamie and Ben.
By the end of the first half Toby and Gregor had scored 3 goals each, Finlay 2 and Monique 1.
NINE GOALS IN 30 minutes OF FOOTBALL - COME ON!!!!
Elliot scored in the 3rd quarter with a beautiful shot, which he (honestly) admitted was a mis hit - it still counts Elliot!!
Monique went on a 3 goal scoring streak - Great play Monique.
John turned to his subs bench to see Jonathan halfway through the biggest (and pinkest) doughnut ever. Quick as a flash, Jonathan said 'I needed the sugar rush, coach'
Good for you Jonathan - where was mine!!!
Good play on the right between Ben and Gregor, great cross into the middle, right for Jamie's head - who ducked underneath it!! Sorry coach, didn't want to ruin my hairstyle!!
Final score 18 - 3 (Thanks to Susie for keeping notes from the game)
This was without doubt, the best that I have seen from a NB Team for years. Everyone worked their socks off and got 'stuck in'
If we can play like this every week, we will do very well this year.
Player of the Day (and goal celebration of the day) – TOBY – great effort and a hat trick. Well done!

Match Report
NB Colts v Musselburgh 7th November 2009
Team: Monique, Jamie, Finlay, Alex, Charlie, Kris, Gregor, Ren, Sam, Toby
Another beautiful morning, thankfully none of the coaches legs were on display..... Dougies masterplan was to mix up both NB teams (ok, there was only 1 game, sorry Dougie)
NB Started well, with a great ball from Sam putting Gregor clean through...... GOAL!
Alex was 'terrier like' snapping at the heels of the opposition, whilst 'twinkle toes' Kris dazzled everyone, including himself with silky skills in midfield. Jamie had obviously been playing
too much Fifa 10, as his keeper charges were fantastic, striking fear into the opposition's centre forwards (and John, Ged and Dougie on the sidelines)
Ren brought a diving save from the keeper and then Charlie scored GOAL!
Monique played most of the match in defence, clearing the ball well and occasionally covering the goal for Jamie, who was in the oppositions penalty area!
Another great ball for Sam for ALex to finish well GOAL!
Gregor then scored a goal from the right wing, over the keeper. His dad, whilst slightly biased, was heard to say 'Better than any goal you will see on match of the day tonight'!
Finlay and Toby gave the team a real edge, with their runs down the wing and fierce tackling. A bad tackle on Toby towards the end of the game - well played.
Some goalkeeper changes in the last quarter enabled Ren to make a great save onto the post and Sam scored 2 goals late on although unfortunately, it was not enough.
The coaches all agreed, it was a terrific game to watch and was a great performance from the team.
Player of the Day – JAMIE – Played a blinder!!!!!!!!. Well done!
