Training will resume at 10.45am until 12.00 noon at The Recreation Park on Saturday 20th February unless we advise otherwise.
I would like to welcome our North Berwick Colts under 8s (P3). I would also like to extend an invitation and warm welcome to new players and parent helpers.
The emphasis this season will be to introduce the players to playing football on grass, developing their foundation skills and above all – having lots of fun!
We have been invited to participate in a series of friendly football fixtures against other teams in East Lothian. Details of our fixtures in the ELSSDA Saturday series of 4-a-side mini-tournaments can be found via the link on the right hand side of the page.
All the kids will get a fair share of games and we will not be selecting players on ability but simply on a rotating selection basis, while highlighting the importance of good sportsmanship. I will send you an e-mail inviting your child to play the following Saturday fixture. If you do NOT receive such an e-mail, your child should turn up for training at 10.45am – 12 noon each Saturday at the Recreation Park as normal.
If you do receive this e-mail, I will require a response by 9am on Wednesday confirming whether or not your child is available to play on the following Saturday. This will give the coaches the opportunity to make alternative arrangements.
Shin pads and football boots are essential for games and training. For games, black shorts and socks are preferred if at all possible - tops will be provided. Please ensure your child is suitably clothed for all weather and he/she has plenty to drink.
If it is an away fixture, can I ask that in the first instance you provide transportation of your child? Alternatively, you should ask one of the other parents to assist your child with a lift. If you are still struggling, please contact me and we can arrange to offer you and your child a lift. PLEASE NOTE: This will be the principle that will be adopted for each fixture.
We have in the past been very fortunate with support on the touchlines from family & friends during training and games. We hope this trend will continue at both home and away fixtures. The kids love to show off their talents and react well to encouragement so please come along and cheer them on.
Annual Subscription forms can be printed off from the link at the bottom of this page. Completed forms and payment should be given to my fellow coach, Keith Gibb.
We will break for the Easter Holidays and there will be no training Sat 3rd April and Sat 10th April.
